Speak of the Tiger, and he will come
During my last Korean lesson, we were talking about the teachers son, when suddenly, he walked in. I said, 'Speak of the Devil and he will appear'. My teacher said that their is a similar saying in Korean, which goes something like this
호랑이도 제말 하면 온다.
ho-rang-i-do je-mal ha-myeon on-da.
Literally translated it means 'Tiger as well him speak (about) do then come' Or 'If you talk about the Tiger, then he will come. It turns out the Korean's found Tigers particularly menacing in the passed so had a similar saying to westerners.
